Backshops & Manufacturing
Aeroframe's backshops are equipped to support all of the MRO
activity carried out at its Lake Charles facility and for aircraft in the field. They are
capable of working all repairs to Airbus standards, including fabrication/repair of
honeycomb panels and repairs with carbon fiber, fiberglass fabrics, and prepregs.
Aeroframe's machine shop component of back shops has CNC 3-axis and
4-axis machines, CNC lathes, drill presses and hydraulic presses. Aeroframe's
sheet metal shop also includes TIG and MOG welders, metal flame spray and standard torches,
heat treatment and plating, and standard metal benders, brakes, cutting and bead
blasters, as well.
Aeroframe's electric/electronic shop handles wire harness build-up and
repair, fire warning loops, troubleshooting, and electrical tooling.
Aeroframe's fully equipped, EPA-approved battery facility charges,
maintains, and stores lead acid and NiCad batteries.
Aeroframe's non-destructive inspection (NDI) shop uses florescent
penetrate, eddy current, magnetic particle, ultrasonic and boroscope techniques,
with qualified non-destructive testing experts located on-site.
Other backshop resources include an environmentally controlled bead/blast facility,
an oxygen storage and handling operation, and a hydraulics shop.
